January in São Paulo
January is a month where temperatures are usually higher and rains are more frequent, ranging from 21 to 32 Celsius degrees, but with a higher thermal sensation, especially on days when there is no rain.
Due to the school holidays, the city is more empty and public transportation and traffic tend to be quieter.
Remains the harvest of grape, watermelon, pineapple, fig, green coconut, melon, plum and mango.
On January 24, the eve of the anniversary of the city, the Alasitas Feast happens at Memorial of Latin America, a traditional celebration of the Bolivian community in praise of Ekeko, the God of prosperity and abundance of the Andean peoples, with much dance, Gastronomy and crafts, from 9 am. to 10 pm.
The month of January is a special month for São Paulo, because on the 25th it is the city’s anniversary that completes 464 years old, the city hall usually promotes some commemorative activities.
In celebration of the city’s anniversary, the traditional Bolo do Bixiga (Bixiga’s cake) will take place at Rui Barbosa Street, from 9am to 1pm with the same animation! The event has more security and organization now and is held with the people’s participation that can collaborate taking their cake!
Also happens on the city’s holiday, as every year, the event of street race and walking São Paulo City Trophy, starting at the Ibirapuera’s Obelisk; for more information check the website.
In January, the Immigration Museum offers holiday activities and workshops for children, every Wednesday from 3pm to 4:30 p.m., check out.

In January it is worth to know the beaches of São Paulo and even make a day trip to the city of Santos or Guarujá, which are an hour and a half from the city; from Jabaquara subway station there are buses that leave the bus terminal every 45 minutes depending on the route, date or time chosen; check out our post.
For those who are on the coast, an interesting option is to take a tour with the bus Roda SP, which has several routes from the beaches of Bertioga, Guaruja, Santos, São Vicente, Praia Grande, Mongaguá, Peruíbe, Itanhaém and Cubatão, from 01/05 to 03/04/2018.
